TRI/SFI Initial Training in Bangkok
The training course for SFI is equivalent to the content of the TRI training course.
Instructor certificates are valid for a period of 3 years.
SFI REQUIREMENTS
- Hold (or have held) a CPL(A) or ATPL(A) in the appropriate category of aircraft
- Have completed, within a period of 12 months, a proficiency check as outlined in Appendix I to PART FCL on a flight simulator of the applicable type
- Have accumulated 1500 hours of flight time as a pilot on multi-pilot airplanes
- Have served as an observer on 3 route sectors in the cockpit of the applicable aircraft type or have completed 2 line-oriented flight training simulator sessions conducted by qualified flight crew in the cockpit of the applicable type.
TRI REQUIREMENTS
- Theoretical Knowledge Instruction totals 35 hours online. During this phase, you will attend a 25-hour Core Course on Teaching & Learning, as well as a Technical Training lasting 10 hours.
- The Simulator Training consists of 10 hours using a Full Flight Simulator (FFS).
- At the conclusion of the course, you must successfully pass an Assessment of Competence (AoC) on the A320 FFS conducted by a Type Rating Examiner.

TRI/SFI Revalidation Training in Bangkok
A revalidation is where an AOC is carried out before the expiry date of your current rating.
You can take an AOC within 1 year prior to the expiry date of your current rating and the new expiry date will be an extension of 36 months to your current expiry.
