A team, not just a group
At AVILAB, we understand the key difference between a group and a team. While a group is a collection of individuals coordinating efforts without necessarily achieving explicit goals, a team shares a common purpose, mission, and vision, driving organizational success. Our shareholders form a perfectly integrated multinational team, utilizing Belbin’s Team Role Theory to ensure dynamic and effective task assignments.
Each team member takes on specific roles, such as coordinator, shaper, innovator, resource investigator, implementer, team maker, completer finisher, monitor evaluator, specialist. These roles are carefully assigned based on CVs and neuro-psychological tests, ensuring that each member exhibits a blend of team-role features with a slightly dominant characteristic. This balanced dynamic fosters strong leadership, creative problem-solving, and effective teamwork.

Chatri Somnug is a highly experienced Airbus A330/A350 Captain with over 21,500 flight hours on the Airbus A350, A330, A300, and Boeing B747-400. He holds an ICAO ATPL with Instrument and Multi-Engine Ratings issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT). Growing up in an Airforce family, he joined the Airforce flying school in the 90s, graduating first in his class, showcasing his flying knowledge and skills. After training, he faced a dilemma between becoming a fighter jet pilot or a commercial pilot, then choosing to explore the world by joining Thai Airways International, where he flew regional and long-haul flights for three decades. During his time at Thai Airways, he focused on aviation safety, implementing Duty Time Regulations and reducing pilot fatigue. In 2019, his team collaborated with Thai ATC and international professionals to improve air traffic handling. He holds ICAO Language Level 6 proficiency, an ICAO Class 1 Medical Certificate, a Master of Arts in Politics and Government, a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, and a Commercial Pilot License obtained in 1991.
Gerardo De Maria is a highly experienced Airline Captain, Instructor, and Manager with a strong background in compliance monitoring, quality management, project management, and human factors/CRM training (including peer support programs), with active participation in academic contexts. With over 28 years in aviation and more than 12000 flight hours on aircraft including the Boeing 777 and Airbus A320, on which he is currently type-rated, he serves as a Captain, Supervisory Pilot, and IATA LOSA SPP Auditor at EVA AIR in Taiwan. Gerardo holds a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Astronautical Engineering, a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, and an MBA in Innovation Leadership and Consulting. His remarkable competencies and dedication make him a respected professional in the field.
Jaruwat Khamsook is an accomplished aviation professional with over 9500 flight hours and extensive experience as a First Officer on B777, A319/A320, and ATR72-500 aircraft. Currently serving as a First Officer at China Airlines, Jaruwat previously held similar positions at EVA Airways and Bangkok Airways, operating across diverse regions including North America, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. Jaruwat's solid academic background includes an FAA Commercial Pilot License, an Master of Science in Polymer Science from Chulalongkorn University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Srinakarin Wirot University. He is known for his dedication, skill, and commitment to aviation excellence, consistently striving to enhance his expertise and contribute to the field. His social skills create the right vibe in every environment he works in.
Maurizio Giuseppe Pezzoni is a dynamic and competent Instructor/Examiner and Captain with extensive experience in multidisciplinary fields. He is currently an A320 TRE/TRI and FOPS Project Manager and Fleet Technical Pilot at SalamAir in Muscat, Oman. Previously, Maurizio held roles at Air Arabia in Sharjah, UAE, and Livingston - Lauda Air in Milan, Italy. With over 10000 flight hours, he has a Ph.D. in Aeronautical Engineering, a Master's degree in Aviation Management, and a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Polytechnic School of Milan. His exceptional organizational and social skills are demonstrated through his diverse experience as a Chief Pilot, flight operations Project Manager, and dedicated Instructor/Examiner. Maurizio is known for his leadership, technical proficiency, and unwavering commitment to aviation safety and excellence.
Dr. Savata Na Nagara is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in both clinical practice and academic settings. Her exceptional skills in managing complex organizations have led her to be a candidate for Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Dental Corporation Public Company Limited. She has served on the Board of Directors for All About Teeth Co., Ltd. since 2016 and shared her expertise as a Guest Lecturer at Chulalongkorn University. A Master of Science in Esthetic Restorative and Implant Dentistry from Chulalongkorn University and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Mahidol University are her main titles, along with additional certifications in Orthodontics and Prosthodontics from prestigious institutions. Dr. Savata’s dedication to management and her continuous pursuit of professional growth make her a prominent figure in various fields.
